SAC Trávní dvůr
Land use: 83 % nature conservation, 17 % farming
Trávní Dvůr is the largest project site. It was chosen for its position in southern Moravia in floodplain of Dyje river, presence of the priority habitat 1340* inland salt meadows on area of 1,86 ha, presence of basal and diagnostic plant species of this habitat and presence of target animal species, european fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina), moor frog (Rana arvalis) and common redshank (Tringa totanus).
At this site, we focus on identifying the most valuable areas where management can help preserve or improve the status of populations of rare species and habitats. The proposed management will include grazing by large livestock, mowing, and discing or plowing to support the germination of halophytic and subhalophytic species.
