SCI Slanisko Dobré Pole
Salt marsh Dobré pole was chosen as a project site for its position and closeness to the other project sites, presence of the priority habitat *1340 inland salt meadows, and potential cooperation with local farmers. The priority habitat is still present, however in a declining state due to insufficient intensity of management. We will focus on eradication of shrubs and other invasive and expansive species and grazing of large livestock, which will result in soil disturbances and soil compaction, to preserve higher levels of salinity. There are also possibilities to improve the water regime and
water retention by at least partially slowing the outlet of water by the local artificial draining canal and installing a biofilter.
Since June 2024, the are is grazed by a small herd of four horses, thanks to cooperation with a local horse keeper.
